Tony Davis - General Manager/On-air Host PDF Print E-mail

A running back at the University of Nebraska, Tony graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Science and Education. While at Nebraska, he was the Most Valuable Player of the 1974 Cotton Bowl and the 1974 (’75) Sugar Bowl. His NFL career saw him play for the Cincinnati Bengals from 1976 – 1978 (in 1977, he was selected the Bengals team MVP) and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from ’79 – ’81. After a season with the Boston Breakers of the USFL, Tony retired and went to work for the University as the head of computer operations for the football program. Tony was elected to the Nebraska Sports Hall of Fame in 1989.
After moving to Colorado, Tony spent five years in the automotive business and coached High School football, before starting his own business, TD Marketing. As the President/Owner/ Operator of the sports marketing company, his duties included management of several team websites. He assisted in college placement for High School football players, and created and implemented strategies for web based businesses to improve on net profits. He also co-hosted radio programming in conjunction with Nebraska football radio broadcasts in Colorado, and was a regular contributor to several sports talk programs in Nebraska.
Tony’s business skills include designing web sites for marketing purposes, designing marketing brochures for sales forces, and designing sales strategies. He used these skills as the Director of Marketing and Sales for Sooner B&B and Alliance Full Service Compression, natural gas engine and compressor companies in Farmington, New Mexico during 2006- 2008. He also made all the appropriate contacts for the research selling of designated products.
Late in 2008, Tony moved back to northern Colorado, where he began consulting work on behalf of retired NFL players as well as sales work for KJMP Radio in Fort Collins.

 
Mark Knudson - Program Director/On-air PDF Print E-mail

A Colorado native, Mark is a graduate of Colorado State University. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Journalism from CSU in 1983.

Mark was also successful in making it into professional baseball as a pitcher. After completing his college playing career, Mark was a 3rd round draft choice of the Houston Astros out of CSU in June of 1982. He made Major League debut with Astros in July of 1985, and was a member of the 1986 NL champion Astros. He was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers in August of 1986, and was among team leaders in starts and innings pitched in 1990, including shut-out wins over the world champion Oakland A's and the Boston Red Sox in a ten-day span. Mark was the Brewers’ Opening Day starter in 1991 when he defeated Nolan Ryan and the Texas Rangers. During his career, Mark recorded wins over three of the four members of the “4,000 strikeout club,” including Ryan, Roger Clemens and Randy Johnson.

After spending a year in the San Diego Padres organization, Mark signed as a free agent with the expansion Colorado Rockies in October of 1992, and in May of the club’s inaugural season, he became the first Colorado native to play for the Colorado Rockies. Mark retired in May of 1993 after having played professionally for 12 years. He spent all or parts of eight seasons in the Major Leagues.

Mark’s career in the sports media began with work for AM 850 KOA radio, where he was the on-air host of Rockies Extra Innings, SportsWeekend, and fill-in host of The Sports Zoo from 1994-1996. He also did color commentary on 12 Colorado Rockies games on KOA in 1995.
Later, Mark hosted radio and television programs, even being selected by the Boulder Daily Camera as the “Best Sports Talk Show Host in Denver market for 2001.” He remains one of Colorado’s six Heisman Trophy voters.

During this decade, Mark has been a feature writer and Contributing Editor for Mile High Sports Magazine, and managing Editor of The Cornhusker magazine, as well as on-air host for Mile High Sports TV and Mile High Sports Radio. Mark has also worked as a baseball studio TV analyst for Fox Sports Rocky Mountain.

Mark is currently the College Baseball studio analyst for ‘The Mtn’, the Mountain West Conference TV Network and continues to write a syndicated sports column, which runs in The Ft. Collins Coloradoan and three other regional newspapers. His column is in its 15th year and was recently picked up by the popular web site, Examiner.com.

Marcus Johnson


Marcus is a graduate of the Conneticut School of Broadcasting in 1989 and has worked as a producer in sports radio since 1998. At the Sportsfan Radio Network he was assistant producer of "The Brickhouse" with JT the Brick and learned the ins and outs of producing a national sports talk radio show, and at KSXT the Sports Extra in Loveland, CO he produced live sports events including high school football and Colorado Ice games as well as "Northern Exposure" with Mark Knudson and Michael Taylor, also in partnership with Mile High Sports Radio he produced "Sports-N-More" with Gil Whiteley and DU Pioneer Hockey. He now brings that experience to KJMP and our local focus.
